Germany, Europe

The drive through Germany was a pretty long one so we decided to split it up into two separate stays. The first stay was near the Black Forest where we got to explore the touristic route B500. Unfortunately the weather was not really good and only our visit to the Allerheiligen waterfall was somewhat satisfactory. The second part in Germany was near the Austrian border in the German Alps. The weather here was not really all that well too plus a lot of places were either still closed or required masks to be worn which was a no-go for us. Still got to see some nice places though.

Crossing the first bridge

Crossing the first bridge to get to the Allerheiligen (All Saints) waterfall in the Black Forest near the town of Oppenau in Germany. Even though the weather wasn't all that good, the visibility at these falls was not impaired. We really enjoyed walking up to the 83m high falls via the many stairs and bridges.

Mixing the streams

We truly loved the Allerheiligen (All Saints) waterfall in the Black Forest near the town of Oppenau in Germany. Here we watched two separate streams mixing into one.

Next to the stairs

Next to the stairs at the Allerheiligen (All Saints) waterfall near the town of Oppenau in the Black Forest, Germany. Starting at the bottom of the falls and wanting to go to the top meant we had to take a lot of stairs.

Side view

Lovely side view while walking alongside the Allerheiligen (All Saints) waterfall near the town of Oppenau in Germany. The All Saints waterfall is a true gem in the Black Forest.

Overlooking the Schwarzwald National Park

A gloomy day with lots of rain and fog. It can look pretty though as we discovered when overlooking the Schwarzwald National Park from the Studentenfelsen lookout near the town of Oppenau in Germany.

Snow on the German Alps

Lovely to see snow on the German Alps as we approached the town of Berchtesgaden in Germany. Almost at our accommodation near the Austrian border.

Hintersee on a rainy day

We had several plans for this day near the town of Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden in Germany. However, the rain made we have to change them and we couldn't really do all that much. We did stop at the Hintersee which, even on a rainy day, looked pretty nice.

The teal coloured Hintersee

Even though it was a rainy day, the teal coloured Hintersee near the town of Ramsau bei Berchtesgaden in Germany looked amazing.
