Berlin, Germany (2013)

In the summer of 2013 I took my daughter on a city trip to Berlin in Germany. We spent a couple of days exploring all parts of the city.

All photo's can be purchased on various materials through my shop on artheroes.com.

Below are all the photos related to this travel experience including the relevant link to the shop.

Steel column with graffiti

Graffiti is everywhere in Berlin, Germany. Not always in the nicest of places but here it was nicely masquerading a steel column that would otherwise have been gray.

Walking in the shade

When my daughter and I visited Berlin, German it was pretty hot outside. Whenever we could we would walk in the shade, like here along the river Spree.

Sparrow paradise

When my daughter and I went for pizza in a small outside pizzeria in Berlin, Germany we had so much fun with all these sparrows. It was clear they waited for customers to finish their pizza after which they flew in to fight over the remaining pieces.

Graffiti everywhere

Like every major city Berlin, Germany has to deal with a lot of graffiti. Most of the time I hate seeing buildings and walls ruined by it. Somehow however I found this old train overpass looking acceptable as I liked the many colours used.

Yellow arches

The Nikolaiviertel in Berlin, Germany is a beautiful part to stroll around in. My daughter and I loved checking out the quaint little shops. While she was mainly there for shopping I found nice spots to photograph. These yellow arches look so friendly, don't they?

Small streets around the church

Me and my daughter loved exploring the Nikolaiviertel in Berlin, Germany. Centered around the church many small specialty shops and restaurants can be found.

Train approaching

Sometimes I just love to play with the camera and one of the better results is always when trying to capture movement. For the best results the subject needs to move relatively fast. This here is one of the yellow U-Bahn trains in Berlin, Germany approaching the station.

Escalator at the Desigual store

Shopping with my daughter on the Kurfürstendamm in Berlin, Germany meant going in one store after another. I made the best of it by looking around for some nice photo opportunities. This escalator at the Desigual store caught my attention as I loved the colour and the lighter lines.

Psychedelic U-Bahn

Once in a while I like to play with the camera to create some special effects. This particular effect was created by turning the zoom while clicking. The objective is to keep the center of the image more or less in focus. This was done in one of the U-Bahn stations in Berlin, Germany.

Waiting for the subway

While being in Berlin the use of the subway system is a must if you need to go to other parts of the city. Here my daughter and I are waiting for the subway on Alexanderplatz.

Art at Haus Huth

Normally I am not such a lover of modern art, but the architecture and some of the art pieces on Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, Germany are amazing. I found these two bicycles at Haus Huth really enjoyable to see.

Endless

My daughter and I really enjoyed walking around the Potsdamer Platz area in Berlin, Germany. Apart from all the ultra modern architecture to be enjoyed we came some really special street furniture. I liked this one in particular, a solid steel rack to park bicycles in.

Potsdamer Arkaden

I have always been fascinated by modern architecture and the Potsdamer Platz in Berlin, Germany is the place to be for that. Potsdamer Arkaden is an ultra modern shopping arcade and a joy to visit. Apart from many beautiful shops it contains a variety of restaurants and bars.
