Luxury yachts in the morning

The harbour of Argostoli on Kefalonia, Greece changed a lot since tourism hit the island. It used to be a quiet fishing town but luxury yachts have taken over.

Sorting out the nets

After fishermen bring in their fresh catch of the day it takes a lot of work to clean up and sorting out the nets, determining what fish can be sold. Early morning, the harbour of Argostoli on Kefalonia, Greece is bustling with activity.

How to get them out

It was so much fun looking at the activities of the fishermen when they brought in the fresh catch in the harbour of Argostoli on Kefalonia, Greece. I was just wondering what a lot of work it must be to get the fish out of those nets.

Towards Myrtos Beach

I had heard great stories about Myrtos Beach on Kefalonia, Greece. To be honest, it looked great from above when I reached it. The beach itself was pretty bad though, existing of mostly rocks and hardly any sand.

The road to Myrtos Beach

The winding road to Myrtos Beach on Kefalonia, Greece. Many people see this as the most beautiful beach ever but in reality it is pretty awful. It's mostly rocks with hardly any sand and pretty crowded too. But it sure looks pretty from above.

Friendly Assos

After about an hours drive from Argostoli I arrived at the friendly village of Assos on Kefalonia, Greece. Beautiful coloured houses surrounding a small bay bathing in sunshine.

There it is!

I got up early on my wife's birthday. Today is the day she is going to arrive on the cruise ship 'Rhapsody of the Seas' and I am going to surprise her by showing up unexpectedly. It took a bit of waiting in the harbour of Argostoli on Kefalonia, Greece but there it is!

Waiting ...

After the Rhapsody of the Seas cruise ship was docked it took a long, long time before my wife actually got off the ship. Waiting in the heat in Argostoli on Kefalonia, Greece was not the best part of this day.

Monastery square

Despite a bus load of tourists were dropped at the monastery of Agios Gerasimos on Kefalonia, Greece, it was extremely quiet on the central square.

Pots & plants
