Cruising Alaska, USA

We always wanted to go on a cruise in Alaska. We finally got the chance to do so and took one of the standard cruises leaving from Seattle and just visiting the standard towns like Sitka, Juneau, Skagway and Ketchikan. Unfortunately the weather was not all that good and most of the trip it was cloudy. Worst part was that we did not get to see any of the magnificent glaciers as there were too many icebergs floating around so the captain deemed it too dangerous. We did see a lot of humpback whales and dolphins though. All in all not too bad but we may need to do it again someday.

End of Broadway

The end of the main and practically only road in the town of Skagway in Alaska, USA. No idea why it is called Broadway but it does look like a scene from a movie.

Quiet little town

In my opinion, the quiet little town of Skagway in Alaska, USA was the most beautiful of the ones we visited. Most probably this has to do with the fact that the town seems to have been standing still in time, preserving the historic look and feel.

Alaska geographic

Literally every building in the centre of Skagway in Alaska, USA is a sight to behold. It is mandatory for owners to keep the buildings in their original historic state as much as possible. This Alaska geographic building is just one of many examples.

Silvery seas

Back in USA waters in Washington state. After a mostly clouded Alaska cruise the sun reappeared and caused this awesome light on the silvery sea.
