Limburg, The Netherlands (2020)
The Covid pandemic hit the world hard and all travel came to a standstill. Since we still could go anywhere within our own country we decided on some small trips to discover the Netherlands. Our first trip was to the southern province of Limburg where we stayed in a farm.

Dreamy view
It felt weird being in a hotel room for the first time since the pandemic. Contactless self check-in in hotel 'Schinvelderhoeve' in Schinveld where only four rooms were made available. However, the dreamy view from the window made it all worthwhile.
The blue bike
The Dutch are known for their bicycles. Practically everyone has at least one and they are actively used. Until of course they are no longer working, but even then we find a use for them. Here is a blue bike used as advertising for a local business in the village of Schinveld, Limburg.
Medieval stay
The medieval farm 'Schinvelderhoeve' in Schinveld, Limburg is a truly unique place to stay the night. Because of Covid only four rooms were available which made the stay especially relaxed and quiet.
Wheat field
I love the golden glow of an almost full grown wheat field. This here is one on the rolling hills in the province of Limburg, Netherlands.
The shed & the cows
Driving through the friendly countryside in the province of Limburg, Netherlands. Cows and their newborn calfs can be seen everywhere.
The black mill
While on a scenic drive through the countryside in the province of Limburg we came across this beautiful black mill. It is located in the village of Ubachsberg.
Reflective walk
A great summer day for a beautiful walk in the 'Schinveldse bossen' near Schinveld in the province of Limburg, Netherlands. With no wind at all the reflections in the lke were magnificent.
Cute horse family
On the final day of our visit to Limburg we went to see the free roaming Konik horses in the Maasvallei near Herbricht in Belgium. Lovely to see this cute horse family enjoying their freedom.
