The Maldives, Asia (2023)
Both me and my wife have always been mesmerized by the promise of paradise with clear blue waters and palm trees. As we are not people that love to bake in the sun all day long doing absolutely nothing, we thought we would be easily bored staying on a small island in the Maldives. So, when Delta Goodrem, our favorite singer from Australia, announced she would be having a holiday in the Maldives for a whole week while performing three times we were sold and booked the trip. It was absolutely worth it we can now say.

Walking to our overwater villa
Just arrived at the boardwalk leading to our overwater villa in the Holiday Inn resort on the South Male atoll of Kandooma Fushi in the Maldives. A whole week of paradise to look forward to.
The pool area
Our first breakfast in paradise overlooking the pool area in the Holiday Inn resort on the South Male atoll of Kandooma Fushi in the Maldives. We actually ended up never using the pools as the lagoon at our overwater villa was way better.
Sunset is straight ahead
Part of our package in the Holiday Inn resort on the South Male atoll of Kandooma Fushi in the Maldives was an Indian Ocean sunset cruise. Sitting on a lovely small boat sailing into the sunset was a very nice experience.
Cool clouds over Biyadhoo
While staying in the Holiday Inn resort on the South Male atoll of Kandooma Fushi in the Maldives, we went on an Indian Ocean sunset cruise. Even though the sky was not all clear the awesome cloud formations made up for it. Here we were passing the small resort island of Biyadhoo.
A bluefin trevally and a Red Sea goatfish
A bluefin trevally and a Red Sea goatfish as seen from the balcony of the overwater villa we were staying in at the Holiday Inn resort on the South Male atoll of Kandooma Fushi in the Maldives. The water in the lagoon is so incredibly clear that snorkeling is not even required as the most colorful fish including reef sharks and stingrays pass by constantly.
The lagoon beach
It was awesome having a beach and lagoon all to ourselves. This beach was close to the overwater villa we had in the Holiday Inn resort on the South Male atoll of Kandooma Fushi in the Maldives.
Typical paradise picture
On my walks around the South Male atoll of Kandooma Fushi in the Maldives I came across many palm trees. This one however especially caught my attention as it perfectly symbolizes paradise. A palm tree on a white beach near a turquoise lagoon.
A grey heron in paradise
I did not expect to see a grey heron while walking around the small atoll in paradise. Can't blame the bird though as staying in the Holiday Inn resort on the South Male atoll Kandooma Fushi in the Maldives is truly awesome.
Awesome water in the lagoon
This was the view we had from the balcony of our overwater villa in the Holiday Inn resort on Kandooma Fushi in the Maldives. The water in the lagoon is incredibly clear and shiny. Great temperature to swim in and mingle with the fish and reef sharks.

Sunsets on the Maldives can be mesmerizing, especially if you can experience them from the comfort of your own overwater villa. This sunset is in the Kandooma resort on the south Male atoll of Kandooma Fushi in the Maldives.
