To avoid the wintery conditions in the Netherlands, me and my wife spent a few months in Orlando (Florida, USA). Apart from just living there in stead of home we visited some local sights and went on some short trips, on one of which we actually ended up in Savannah, Georgia.

Whenever we are in Orlando, Florida we visit the Orlando Wetlands Park in the nearby town of Christmas. It's great to enjoy nature and have a great walk at the same time. The new boardwalk certainly made things a bit more interesting.

Whenever we are in Orlando, Florida we always visit Winter Park. It's an arts- and culture-filled city with a European feel to it. The SunRail train passes this city and here we are crossing the tracks at the railway station.
After staying the night in Miami Beach we went to the beach for an early morning walk. We liked this colourful lifeguard tower and discovered that every one of them is different.
The Overseas Highway used to drive to get to Key West in Florida is beautiful, but long. In need for a drink we decided to stop at Gilbert's resort in Key Largo. Great spot next to this jetty.
Me and my wife were totally in love with this cute house in Key West, Florida. Since it was for sale we looked it up and it was really gorgeous inside too. Only one point three million dollars and it would have been ours.

Years ago when we were in St. Augustine, Florida we found the perfect coffee place. We wanted to find it again and were happy to see it was still there. The coffee was still as good as before.

I had a lovely walk by myself in St. Augustine, Florida and passed the memorial Presbyterian church. This historic church was constructed in 1889 by American industrialist Henry Morrison Flagler. It was dedicated to the memory of his daughter Jennie Louise Benedict.
At the end of our walking tour in St. Augustine, Florida we had to pass the Bridge of Lions. Since a yacht needed to pass they opened the bridge and we got this lovely view on the bridge.
While on a sightseeing tour in Savannah, Georgia we passed Forsyth Park with this wonderful fountain. The beautiful Forsyth Park fountain is one of Savannah's most well-known icons.
We went for a sightseeing river cruise on The Georgia Queen in Savannah, Georgia. Despite that it looks like a paddle steamer but in really isn't, as the paddles didn't even move, it was lovely to have been on it.
Watching the historic trade buildings on River Street (Savannah, Georgia, USA) from the Georgia Queen ship. The area at the Savannah waterfront is thoroughly restored and now hosts restaurants and souvenir shops.
There is something about cemeteries that draws me to them. This one, Colonial Park Cemetery, in Savannah, Georgia I liked because of the centuries old and weathered graves that were seemingly ramdomly scattered all over the place. Fascinating to see graves from as far back as the eighteenth century.
