As part of our winter escape 2026 we started in our most favourite city in the world, Perth in Western Australia. Being the city with the most hours of sunshine it is the perfect place for us to escape winter in our home country. It's an ideal city as there is no need for a car because public transport is well organised and free. On top of that it's clean, offers many restaurants and perfect beaches are closeby.

First Contact is a prominent, five-metre-tall cast aluminium public art sculpture located on the Elizabeth Quay waterfront in the city of Perth, Western Australia. The traditional City of Perth Skyworks was a massive annual Australia Day fireworks event on the Swan River that ended in 2022 due to high costs, environmental concerns, and waning interest. It has been replaced by a shorter, scaled-back, 30-minute combination drone and fireworks display at Langley Park.
